Do I need special qualifications to give the MBTI® assessment to other people?
Yes. Since the MBTI is a psychological instrument, it is restricted, and specific educational requirements are necessary before you can purchase and use the MBTI assessments. You will need to complete a certification program OR establish your educational eligibility. The MBTI® Certification Program is designed to equip you with the essential information and experience you need to begin using the MBTI Step I™ and Step II™ assessments. The program prepares you to professionally and ethically administer and interpret the assessment through interactive and experiential learning methods. For information about MBTI® certification programs, including schedules, locations and fees, visit mbticertification.org.
I want to start using the MBTI® instrument in my practice, company, etc. How do I find out if I meet the requirements to administer the assessment?
Qualifications are determined on the basis of your academic coursework OR by completion of a certification training program. If you are already certified, MBTI administrative materials are available from CPP, the publisher of the MBTI assessment , or Center for Applications of Psychological Type. You will be required to designate your educational qualifications or certification training before processing an order for MBTI materials. If you are not already certified to administer the MBTI but would like to be, there are four organizations in the US that are licensed to offer the MBTI® Certification Program: CPP, Center for Applications of Psychological Type, American Management Association, and G/S Consultants. Prices and locations of the workshops vary.
